Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Data Strategy and Insights to lead our data-driven initiatives and guide our team in providing comprehensive insights for our clients. This role requires deep expertise in media data, interaction data (web, application, digital product data), and transactional data, as well as experience with data-driven A/B and multivariate testing, data governance, and various analytics tools. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with a knack for telling compelling stories through data-driven insights. Alloy Digital is a leading digital product development company specializing in UX/UI, design, software development, data services and insights. Some of our core competencies include data reporting, analysis, and storytelling across a wide range of data sets, helping clients optimize their customer touchpoints and experiences. We are headquartered in Birmingham, AL, and Atlanta, GA, but we are also made up of remote teams and we operate in a mostly remote environment.

What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a data strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and client needs, integrating media data, interaction data, and transactional data.
- Lead, manage, and grow a small team of data analysts and data scientists in delivering high-quality, actionable insights to clients using advanced analytics techniques, including predictive and prescriptive analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product development and marketing teams, to ensure data-driven decisions are made across the organization through A/B and multivariate testing, conversion optimization, and customer engagement scoring.
- Present insights and recommendations to clients, effectively communicating the value of our data-driven approach in enhancing their digital experiences and customer touchpoints.
- Continuously explore new data sources, tools, and analytical techniques to improve the depth and breadth of our insights and recommendations, with a focus on real-time data, cloud data, data-as-a-service, open source tools, data democratization, data fabric, and data automation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external data partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to support data-driven initiatives.
- Ensure data governance best practices are followed across the organization and oversee the implementation of analytics tools, such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Tag Management systems.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices, implementing new tools and methodologies as needed.
Requirements
What we definitely need:
- Bachelor's degree (Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data strategy, or a similar role.
- Proven experience working with media data, interaction data (web, application, digital product data), and transactional data.
- Expertise in data visualization, reporting, and storytelling, with experience in Tableau and PowerBI as a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- A strong analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and driving data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with multi-touch attribution, natural language processing (augmented analytics), and machine learning frameworks.
