Data Scientist


ALLOY’s strategy team provides subject matter expertise to solve practical, real-world problems and establish groundbreaking insights and strategy for our clients. We not only seek the right answers, but the right questions to ask in the first place.

Our data scientists use their formidable skills in math, statistics, and subject matter expertise to deal with unstructured and structured data in order to clean, prepare, and analyze sources into a cohesive whole. We strive to provide not only insights into what we know about the business challenge, but also uncover unforeseen nuggets of insight about the challenge itself, and back it all up with unshakable data.

If you’d rather provide insights over report minutia, cohesive analysis over spreadsheets, finding not only what is happening with the business but why, then you may be the person we’re looking for.

You already know:

  • Visualizations using ggplot, D3, Tableau, Qlikview, Periscope, Business Objects, etc.
  • Data analysis and insights, intelligently simple report generation
  • Communication through data visualizations and presentations
  • Organization and prioritization skills
  • Analytic solutions implementation
  • Data mining, optimization, machine learning techniques, statistics
  • Business line data application experience (Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, Nielsen, Comscore, Simmons, MRI, etc.)
  • Ability to work comfortably and seamlessly with disparate technical and business stakeholders
  • Understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts grounded in behavioral and psychological sciences

  • Relational databases and Hadoop-based data mining frameworks
  • Analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets using a variety of tools like Statistical Analysis System (SAS), R or SPSS
